Child Custody & Support

Arizona Child Custody & Support Attorneys

When a marriage is ending and there are children involved, the couple is faced with the difficult task of deciding what child custody and child support arrangement is in the best interest of the children. We work with couples everyday who are working through this difficult time. For more information about our divorce lawyers, please contact our law firm to schedule an initial consultation to discuss your situation.

There are two main types of child custody: physical custody and legal custody. Often, one parent has sole physical custody of the child and the other parent is then assigned a certain schedule for parenting time or visitation of the child. The parents may still have joint legal custody to allow them to jointly decide issues involving the child's well being. The goal is to keep the parents working together and looking for a child custody arrangement that considers the best interest of the child.

Our divorce lawyers help couples to understand how child support works in Arizona. The amount of child support payments is determined by the Arizona Child Support Guidelines. We can work with our clients to help them understand whether the child support arrangement is fair and equitable.

We also work with clients who are seeking to make either a child custody modification or child support modification by adjusting the arrangements determined in the divorce decree.
